Saint Anthony of Padua is often remembered as the saint people ask for help when something goes missing. But there is much more to his story. This episode of The Weekend Cup briefly introduces the Franciscan preacher, his love of Scripture, and the account of a stolen Psalter that helped make him the patron saint of lost things.
We also explore several miracles associated with Anthony: his sermon to the fish, the mule said to have knelt before the Eucharist, and the vision of the child Jesus that inspired so many images of him. Together, these stories offer a glimpse of Anthony’s faith and the message he spent his life preaching.
